Ron Scott

In 1984 Ron was appointed Queen’s Counsel and in 2002, he received a Master of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto in the field of E-Business Law.

Ron Scott has been providing a broad range of legal services to clients since 1973. He attended the University of Ottawa Law School where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree. In 1984 he was appointed Queen’s Counsel and in 2002, he received a Master of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto in the field of E-Business Law.                                         

Ron practices in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, wills and estates, business law and family law.                

 He has successfully represented thousands of Ottawa area buyers and sellers with their real estate transactions during his years of practice. His attention to detail and extensive experience in this area of practice and his dedication to providing exceptional service to his clients results in many referrals from satisfied clients and real estate professionals. Ron has represented most of the major lending institutions in the placing of mortgages and other debt financing and has represented the Province of Ontario in a major land assembly.

He has represented a wide range of businesses and incorporated many Federal and Provincial corporations as well as not-for-profit corporations. Mr. Scott has handled many business acquisitions and sales and has advised a wide range of clients on franchising, corporate financing and corporate restructuring. He has been called upon to make presentations to several financial planning groups and professional organizations and has participated in many retirement and home buying seminars.                                                                    

 In the area of estate administration, Ron has assisted numerous families in assuring a considerate and timely handling of their estate matters. He has drafted wills for numerous clients and been called upon by estate trustees to advise and assist them in fulfilling the obligations assumed by them as a result of their appointment as Estate Trustee.

 Ron is an active volunteer in the community. He has served on the Foundation Board of the Queensway-Carleton Hospital and as President of the Board of Directors of the Good Companions Senior Centre. He is a current member, and past-President, of the Rotary Club of West-Ottawa.

Paul Coulson

Paul obtained his Bachelors of Law degree from Dalhousie University in 1976 and In 2013 Paul received his Juris Doctor from the same university.

Paul’s preferred areas of practice are real estate, wills, estates, corporate and family law. Paul excels in his duty to provide his clients with the best service possible. Paul prides himself on personal service to his clients which is reflected in his commitment that no phone call will go unanswered.

Paul obtained his Bachelors of Law degree from Dalhousie University in 1976 and has been providing legal services in the greater Ottawa Region since then.  In 2013 Paul received his Juris Doctor from the same university. 

Paul has taught, lectured and volunteered at various organizations throughout the Region and abroad including:

Andy Scott

Andy is a NHLPA Certified Agent working with the global sports agency Octagon.

Andy attended Carleton University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in law, before attending the University of Ottawa Law School where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 2004. Andy was called to the Ontario bar in 2005 and articled and practiced for over five years at a prominent national law firm, before joining a well known mid-sized Ottawa based law firm in 2009. In 2015, Andydecided to join forces with his dad, Ron Scott, and Paul Coulson to form Scott Coulson + Scott. 

Andy’s practice focuses on sports law and general corporate commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, franchising and financial services. 

Andy has been certified as a player agent with the National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA) since 2009. In his work as a NHLPA player agent, Andy has negotiated many player contracts and endorsement deals. Andy also has a deep understanding of the NHL's Collective Bargaining Agreement and has taught the Sports Law class at the University of Ottawa Law School.   

In the general corporate area, Andy provides everyday services for his corporate clientele including advice with respect to business formation and structure, shareholder and partnership agreements, and many other commercial contracts. In the area of M&A, Andy has been involved in over one hundred transactions ranging from the recent sale of a local business for $3 million to the sale of a public company for $275 million. Andy’s financial services practice includes preparing security documentation and advising some of Canada’s major financial institutions, along with acting for borrowers. Andy has also been practicing franchise law since being called to the bar in 2005. His franchise practice involves assisting franchisors with preparing disclosure documents and general advice relating to their franchise systems, negotiating franchise agreements on behalf of franchisees and providing advice to franchisee associations. 

Andy is very involved in the community. He currently serves as Co-Chair of Martini Madness, an annual fundraiser which supports Crohns and Colitis Canada. Andy is also a member of the Sports Lawyers Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Canadian Bar Association
